Capilano Community Services Society

Welcome to Capilano Community Services Society.

Where community comes together to connect, explore, and discover!

Who We Are

Capilano Community Services is a charitable non-profit society serving communities across North and West Vancouver. We began our operations in 1970, driven by a grassroots community response to address the need for the development and delivery of social programs for youth and seniors in the Capilano Highlands area. As our organization has grown, we have expanded our programs and services to respond to the changing needs and interests of residents across the North Shore.

What We Do

Capilano Community Services offers outreach and onsite programs and support services for people of all ages to increase social connections, stay active, and improve health and wellbeing. Our fun programs promote learning together and provide a sense of community belonging, so that individuals and families can thrive.

Our low-cost, no-cost and by donation programs and services include:

Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. To learn more about how you can contribute to your community, see our Volunteer page and visit the specific program pages on our website.

Capilano Community Services partners and collaborates with other community groups, organizations, and local Indigenous communities to identify service gaps in order to offer responsive programming that builds capacity for social programs across the North Shore.

Join us at the new Lions Gate Community Recreation Centre!

We are excited to have moved to the Lions Gate Community Recreation Centre, located in the heart of the new Lions Gate Village west of Capilano Road, between Curling Road and Fullerton Avenue. The new community centre will serve residents of the new village development and those in the surrounding, established neighbourhoods of Lower Capilano.

The new community centre provides the neighbourhood with many opportunities to discover, connect, play, learn and grow. North Vancouver Recreation and Culture will operate this District of North Vancouver-owned facility and will work with Capilano Community Services and North Vancouver District Public Library to provide a wide array of recreation, education, cooking, arts, music, and cultural programs, along with community support services.
