Capilano Community Services
Where community comes together to connect, collaborate, and discover!
Capilano Community Services (CCS) is a registered, charitable society with a mission to build community on the North Shore by creating opportunities for people to connect, collaborate and support one another.
Operating with a lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion, we create opportunities for social connectedness, support healthy childhood development and healthy aging, improve individual wellbeing and resiliency, and promote a sense of community belonging.
Working in partnership with community groups, community organizations, and local Indigenous communities, CCS can effectively identify service gaps and collaborate with our partners to offer responsive programming and build capacity across the North Shore.
Our programs are proudly supported by over 100 local volunteers.
We provide engaging, low-cost and no-cost educational, social, recreational programs, along with support services, and community events. We serve North Shore residents of all ages, with a focus on those community members who are vulnerable or living in conditions of risk. Our onsite and outreach programs promote learning together and provide a sense of community belonging, so that individuals and families can thrive.
We also operate the Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP), which provides free, short-term loans of mobility assistance equipment to those recovering from illness or injury.
